We manage a diverse legal education practice and deliver training in a range of legal areas including: family violence, family law, consumer credit and debt, seniors’ rights and elder abuse, employment law, tenancy and Centrelink issues.
We regularly deliver community legal education workshops in schools and respond to requests from schools to deliver workshops on sexting, cyberbullying, consent, and young people’s rights and responsibilities and the law.
We offer training to community workers as part of our Law for Community Workers Program to assist non-legal practitioners to become legal issue spotters and better support their clients experiencing legal issues.
Our Community team also considers requests from community groups and organisations for customised education workshops on a case by case basis.
Due to COVID-19 we are currently delivering all community legal education workshops remotely.
For more information about our Community Legal Education program or if you would like to request a Community Legal Education workshop please email the Community team at education@barwoncls.org.au.
